Winterguard wins championship in Mid-Atlantic competition

The SPFHS Winterguard won first place in its division at the Mid-Atlantic Indoor Network's 2015 Championship competition on April 25 in South Brunswick. With a score of 90.3, the group finished first among nine schools from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania in MAIN's Scholastic Regional A Denniston Division.

The championship is a first for SPFHS Winterguard, said director Jackie Tumolo. "The win obviously feels wonderful, but what's been so exciting this season was watching these girls transform our program."

This guard's 2015 show, called "Winter Is Coming," was performed to music by Ding Wei.

"These girls have come so far. They really made the choreography their own and a piece of art that was more beautiful than the staff could've imagined. We are so proud of their accomplishments and can't wait for next season!"
