Congratulations on a great performance: Allentown 2011

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Marching Band, Classes of 2012-2015, put on a terrific performance in the USSBA Nationals competition at Allentown, Pa., on Nov. 13. Congratulations to every member for all their hard work leading to this great show.

From the write-up on the USSBA website: "The afternoon session of the National Championships began with the largest size bands battle in the Group VI A competition. The top three produced the tightest race of the day with only five-tenths of a point separating first and third place. New Providence came out being awarded top prize in Group 6 A, and Jackson Memorial and Scotch Plains-Fanwood claimed the runner-up positions."

Lovin' it at McDonald's

The band made a promotional appearance Nov. 12 at the grand re-opening of the McDonald's on Route 22 in Scotch Plains. A few snapshots have been added to our 2011 Collection album.

Yamaha Cup 2011 (More photos added 11/5)

The band rocked MetLife Stadium, home of the Giants and Jets, on Saturday Oct. 15, performing in the USSBA's Yamaha Cup competition. These photos give pit-crew-member Dan Murphy's view of the band rehearsing in the parking lot, heading into the stadium and onto the field. Additional photos from the stands were shared by Rosemary and Marcus Valdez.
