From the write-up on the USSBA website: "The afternoon session of the National Championships began with the largest size bands battle in the Group VI A competition. The top three produced the tightest race of the day with only five-tenths of a point separating first and third place. New Providence came out being awarded top prize in Group 6 A, and Jackson Memorial and Scotch Plains-Fanwood claimed the runner-up positions."
