Day of Percussion, 2/16/2013 (Updated)

SPFHS held its annual Day of Percussion on Feb. 16, 2013 (postponed one week by a blizzard). Student ensembles from Spiffy High, Terrill Middle School, Randolph Middle and High Schools and Montville High School performed, and professional musicians Dennis DeLucia, Pat Petrillo, Dave Samuels and John Riley ran clinics. The halls outside the auditorium were filled with vendor tables and Music Boosters volunteers running a raffle and food service.



"We wanted to give the students an opportunity to see products from percussion companies and also get a chance to watch some clinics by professionals from the various areas from the world of percussion," said Mr. Reo, who planned the event along with Mr. Jackson. "As the event has grown, we’ve been able to have table displays where students can meet with and talk to percussionists from a wide variety of backgrounds. ... I look forward to seeing what will happen with the Day Of Percussion in future years."
