Marching Band competes at East Brunswick High

The Raiders Marching Band and Guard put on another great show on Oct. 29 in USBands Group 6-Open competition at East Brunswick High School.

We have an album of photos by pit crew member Dan Murphy, both of the pre-show warmups in the dark and the performance under the lights.

CLICK HERE for the full album.

And as a bonus - a "team photo" of the pit crew! It's not complete, since other volunteers have worked at different shows. Many hands make light work!

Marching Band performs in NJ State Finals 10/22/2016

The SPFHS Raiders Marching Band & Guard put on a fine performance at the USBands New Jersey Finals, held at the Rutgers University stadium in Piscataway on Oct. 22.

The 2016 show, "The Code: Of Kingdoms and Glory," has been growing more elaborate as the season goes on, and our student musicians have been doing a great job learning new elements from week to week.

We have a big album of photos by pit crew member Dan Murphy - including behind-the-scenes views of the pre-show preparations, as well as the performance under the lights. Click here to see.

Marching Band plays at home football game 10/22/2016

The marching band and guard got good use out of their new all-weather coats as they played stand cheers and the half-time show at a SPFHS Raiders football game on Saturday, Oct. 22.

It was the first performance of a long day for the band, which competed that night in the USBands NJ State Finals at Rutgers. (See our post on that event.)

Marching Band competition is "rained in"

This year's marching band competition at J.P. Stevens High School in Edison was held indoors because of stormy weather.

While that limited the band and guard's movements, they did their best to present their show, "The Code: Of Kingdoms and Glory."

We have a big album of photos by band parent Sandy Yip - including a lot of behind-the-scenes views of our musicians before and after the performance. Click here to see the album.
